What’s Next? Continuing the Work, in a New Way

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the intersection of people, policy, and purpose. Whether it was advocating for workers and their benefits, helping fiduciaries navigate complex responsibilities, or building bridges between policymakers and practitioners, my career has always centered on one question: how do we make the system work better for the people it was built to serve?

That question has guided every chapter — from my years in private practice, to my time leading the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) as Assistant Secretary of Labor. It’s been a privilege to help shape policy, modernize guidance, and engage with stakeholders across every corner of the benefits landscape. I’ve witnessed firsthand how thoughtful regulation and collaboration can protect workers’ savings, support employers, and strengthen our retirement and health system.

But after decades of working in a law firm and then within government, I felt a pull toward something more personal. I wanted to find a way to keep doing this work and honoring the mission, but on my own terms.

That’s what led me to launch LMG Collaborative Consulting Solutions LLC, a firm built on the idea that experience and collaboration can create meaningful impact and practical solutions. Through my firm, I provide services that are all grounded in the values that have shaped my career: integrity, authenticity, and purpose.

I’ve also had the opportunity to continue collaborating with colleagues and organizations that share those values. I’m so grateful to have been able to partner with clients in the retirement, health, multiemployer, mental health advocacy, and employee ownership spaces. These partnerships allow me to stay engaged in the national policy conversation while focusing on what I love most: helping people and organizations connect the dots between policy, practice, and impact.

As for what’s next? I plan to keep doing what I’ve always done, just in new ways. That means working with forward-thinking organizations, policymakers, and leaders who want to build systems that are fair, flexible, and focused on the people they serve. It means continuing to speak, write, and advocate on issues that matter. And it means staying grounded in collaboration because real progress is never achieved alone.

This next chapter feels both new and familiar, It’s a return to what I value most, with the freedom to shape it in my own way. I’m excited to see where it leads, and even more excited for the work ahead and to write it with you.

Built on experience. Backed by policy. Driven by purpose.
